VV2020

Vigyan Vidushi 2020 in online format (June 1st – June 20th, 2020)

The Vigyan Vidushi programme is a three-week summer programme for women students at the end of their M.Sc. first-year in physics, designed to provide them an exposure to advanced physics topics and research opportunities, and encourage them to take up research in physics as a career option. The students in this program will also get an opportunity to be taught, inspired, and mentored by successful women scientist role models.

Due to the current situation caused by Covid-19, the programme cannot be held in the originally envisaged form. However, it will be conducted in an online format during June 1st — 20th, 2020 . Selected candidates have already been informed by email.

The courses will consist of lectures as well as tutorials. In addition, there will be 7 special lectures by eminent women physicists.

The lectures and tutorials will take place on an online platform. About 50 women students from all over India have been selected for participating in these sessions directly. These students will also have an oppportunity of participating in informal mentoring sessions that will take place in smaller groups.

In addition, more than 300 women students will be able to follow the lectures and special lectures, which will be streamed live.
